Brand new McDonald’s takes shape at Lime Square in east Manchester
19 March 2013
The brand new eco-friendly designed McDonald's restaurant at Manchester’s Lime Square is taking shape – ready for an opening later in the Spring.
The new two storey restaurant and drive thru has been built to a striking design on a corner site. It represents the third phase of works at the centre on Ashton Old Road, Openshaw, which has helped to transform this part of east Manchester over the last two years.
Lime Square already houses an 80,000 sq ft Morrisons store as well as a host of other retailers including Poundland and B and M Bargains. Delivered by Yorkshire based retail property developers Dransfield Properties, the company has worked in partnership with Manchester City Council and New East Manchester to bring a new District Centre to the area.
The 5,239 sq ft restaurant is part of an exciting new concept for McDonalds in the UK and will create at least 60 full and part time jobs in the east Manchester area.
Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said; “The building really does look impressive and it’s great to see how well the work has progressed. We’re looking forward to seeing it completed over the next couple of months and the new Lime Square Mcdonalds opening for business.”
McDonalds are currently recruiting for the new Openshaw drive thru. For further information about job opportunities and recruitment visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk and quote the store #1245 Sports City.
