26 September 2022
As the South Yorkshire company celebrates its 30th year in business, they also continue their commitment to North Ferriby Football Club.
Mark Dransfield DL, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, has close personal links with the club having played for North Ferriby’s reserves side as a teenager in the 1980s.
The highlights since the company started sponsoring was when the team made two visits to Wembley, one in 1997 to the FA Vase Final and again in 2015 where after a nail-biting game against Wrexham went to penalties. The team made footballing history after being crowned the winners of the 2015 FA Trophy.
Unfortunately, since then, they have faced many challenges causing the club and team to split. The club was then formed again in the 2019/20 season and has been making remarkable growth and changes since.
North Ferriby pride themselves on being a ‘not for profit’ community football club, providing opportunities to more than 200 youngsters, as well as having ladies, intermediate, reserve, and senior team players.
Bringing the community together is a very important goal for the club, and in May this year, North Ferriby hosted 3,500 people on its grounds for the clubs very own North Ferriby Festival.
The festival was a big hit with its live music, food, sports, drink, entertainment, face painting and even BBC’s David ‘Burnsey’ Burns hosting on the main stage.
The club have also made inspirational changes to its grounds, becoming more sustainable and helping the environment. North Ferriby is now one of the few football grounds that is 100% ecofriendly, using renewable energy, ecofriendly floodlights and biodegradable waste.
The club also serves vegetarian and vegan food ensuring it caters for everyone.
Mark Dransfield DL, said: “We’re proud to continue sponsoring and working with such a progressive team doing good work within its community, especially with our young, talented players.”
As well as proudly carrying the Dransfield business on the shirts, the ground of North Ferriby Football Club was also renamed “The Dransfield Stadium”, truly showing the great collaboration.
Club Chairman, Les Hare, said “We are hugely grateful to Mark and Dransfield Properties for continuing to commit to the Club.
“Huge congratulations to Mark and his team on their 30th anniversary and thank you for supporting our club for 27 years of that.”
