MAYOR OPENS NEW MATALAN STORE IN TUNSTALL!

The elected Mayor Mike Wolfe has officially opened the new Matalan store in Tunstall to the hundreds of shoppers who have been waiting for the developments' completion.

The £6 million scheme was completed on schedule by contractors Bluestone and has been built on the site of a run down former Co-op store in the town.

Te new development has created around 120 new jobs in the area and is the first phase of the Tunstall East Regneration Scheme.

Work is due to start on phase two later this year creating a strong link with the High Street.

The scheme has been delivered by urban regneration specialists Dransfield Properties who are based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The Mayor Mr Wolfe praised the work done by Dransfield Properties to regnerate this part of Tunstall bringing new jobs and investment to the area.

Managing Director Mark Dransfield said: "We are delighted to have completed this first phase in our plans for Tunstall, this has been extremely well received by local members and residents alike and we are looking foreward to delivering the next phases of this improtant development in the town."
