New B&M Creates Another 50 Jobs Across Hull

1 October 2015

B&M, one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers is creating another 50 jobs in Hull with the opening of a new store at the Holderness Gateway development in the city.

The finishing touches are currently being made to the B&M Home Store & Garden Centre which will open on Friday 9th October at 9am.

The new store follows the recent B&M store opening in Willerby bringing the total number of jobs created by B&M in the city to over 100 during the last 4 months alone.

Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location on Holderness Road including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, home, electrical and seasonal ranges.

The ribbon cutting will be undertaken by representatives from Craven Primary Academy including Olivier Bruch and Kyle Acey who won a competition earlier this year to name the new Holderness Gateway development.

As a gesture of thanks, the academy will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers for opening the store. They will be joined by the academy’s Head Boy and Head Girl as well as the Mayor of Kingston upon Hull Councillor Anita Harrison.

Sue Smith, Store Manager at B&M Hull Holderness Road said: “We are really proud to be creating another 50 jobs across Hull this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.”

“We are excited to get the doors open on Friday 9th October and honoured to have representatives from Craven Primary Academy alongside the Lord Mayor cutting the ribbon to officially mark the opening of our new store.”

The £5 million Holderness Gateway development  has been delivered by Yorkshire retail specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd. Other retailers to join the line up include Subway and Bulk Garage as well as the Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
