The leading budget gym chain, The Gym Group is opening its newest branch at Lime Square on Monday (20th October.)

The 15,000 sq. ft. gym is in a key position at Lime Square and aims to make health and fitness facilities accessible and affordable to everyone. 

The opening will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting at 12pm on Monday (October 20th) following by a special opening party at 4pm. The Urbanized Cheer and Dance Academy will be joining the fun with a special performance and there will also be fitness and nutritional advice.

Rob Neave, General Manager of the new gym, grew up in the local area and has also captained Rochdale Rugby Team for the last four years. He’s joined by assistant manager Dylan Noble and 12 other personal trainers who will be working at the gym.

Rob said: “I’m really excited to be working with the Openshaw community to help them reach their fitness goals.  We’ve had a great response from the public so far, the gym looks great and we’re delighted to opening the doors and welcoming our first members.

"This really is a great location for us with plenty of free parking for our members.”

Like the other 47 gyms in the group, The Gym Manchester Openshaw will offer 24 hour access to at least 153 pieces of brand new equipment in a state of the art gym which is bright, clean and safe. Lime Square has been development by Dransfield Properties, working in partnership with Manchester City Council and New East Manchester. The Gym is joined by a retail line up including Morrisons, B&M and Poundland – the next store to open at the centre is the Portuguese and Mexican restaurant franchise Perito’s.
