23 December 2019

Plans have been approved to deliver a brand-new Aldi store on New Hey Road in Huddersfield on a brown field site owned by Sheffield based retail property developers Dransfield Properties Ltd.

Members of Kirklees Council’s Strategic Planning Committee approved the plans for a new 19,214 sq. ft. store and 114 car parking spaces at a meeting at Huddersfield Town Hall on December 19th.

The development will transform the Oakes Mill site on New Hey Road as well as creating around 40 new local jobs.

Once completed the store will be the 26th Aldi delivered by Dransfield Properties since the company was founded in 1992. Work is expected to start in the New Year.

Retail Property Director Andrew Malley said: “We are delighted that our plans for the new Aldi store at New Hey Road have been approved by Kirklees Council and look forward to the completion of our 26th store for the company.”
