Security stepped up at Three Lakes Retail Park Selby

4 August 2006

Security at the Three Lakes Retail Park on Bawtry Road in Selby has been stepped up in response to local residents who are concerned about anti-social behaviour.

An additional security guard will be posted on the site and the hours covered by security extended following an approach by the local tenants association to ask for help in removing ‘boy racers’ from the site in the evenings.

On a number of occasions the Three Lakes Retail Park has become a target for young drivers whose behaviour is affecting the lives of neighbouring residents. ‘Boy racers’ are acknowledged as a problem in Selby and the police have put extra resources in place to tackle this which is beginning to have an impact.

Lindsay McLaren, Public Relations Manager for Dransfield Properties said: “Dransfield Properties is committed to working with the police and members of the local community to eradicate this unacceptable behaviour.  Hopefully the extra security will deter the small number of youngsters who persist in engaging in behaviour which is detrimental to the quality of life of local people.  We will not tolerate this sort on our developments and will continue to work with the police to minimise the opportunities for this type of offence to take place.”
