Work continues on site at East Ham

22 January 2021

Construction work has continued throughout the current lockdown on the transformation of the former East Ham Market Hall in the London Borough of Newham.

The development is the first major scheme in London for Dransfield Properties Ltd, working as part of a joint venture with Land Management and Barratt London to transform the 1.9 acre site, creating a brand new residential and retail development called New Market Place.

The development is on track to be completed in November 2022 and will deliver 277 new one, two and three bedroomed homes, as well as 21,500 sq. ft. of new and refurbished retail space.

The development will also bring new public spaces to the area, as well as landscaped courtyards and private roof gardens for residents.

The first lot of completed residential units at Raine House are now on sale – ideally located just a 7 minute walk from East Ham’s underground station and neighbouring the Olympic Park, Westfields and Stratford's transport hub.

Once the residential development has been completed work will then start on the new, ground floor retail mall.

Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield, said: “The transformation and development at East Ham has continued to progress throughout the pandemic and remains on track to be completed by the end of 2022.

“This has been a fantastic, first major development in the capital for us to be involved with and we are really looking forward to delivering the full project complete with high specification residential and retail units along with attractive public spaces”.

Barratt London and East Ham Regeneration have worked together with Newham Council, the GLA and residents throughout the design process. The scheme’s anticipated completion is late 2021.
