New Lidl store opens in Royton
16 September 2016
Royton’s new Lidl store is now open – Dransfield Properties worked with Oldham Council to deliver the new development in the town.
The new store covers 22,000 sq. ft. and a 100 space short stay car park has also been delivered as part of the town centre development.
Lidl has more than 600 stores across the country and up to 40 new jobs have been created at the Royton store.
The local authority and Dransfield Properties worked in partnership to breathe new life into the district centre and create the new store.
The 22,000sq ft store, has been built on land bounded by High Street, Middleton Road and Croft Head. The store was granted planning permission by Oldham Council last year following the demolition of the Royton Assembly Hall and former Albion Club.
Nick Harvey, Lidl UK's regional head of property, said: "We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Royton.
"It is wonderful for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can't wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community."
