The last phase of the Alexandra Park development in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, is taking shape – with the building’s steel frame now almost complete.

The contractors Nottingham based firm J. Tomlinson have also started work on the roof canopy and work is getting underway on the block work on the development site which is due to be completed early in 2014.

Card Factory and Iceland have already announced they’re taking two of the five retail units being built in this final phase of works at Alexandra Park.

The brand new retail units will sit alongside the Boots Pharmacy and Primary Care Centre which both opened in September 2011. The development is built around a central 240 space car park with good links to the town centre and is also home to the impressive, landmark Shard sculpture as well as a DW Sports Fitness Gym and store.

Card Factory are taking a 1,250 sq. ft. unit and the frozen food retailer Iceland are taking a 6,135 sq ft store at the centre -  once the main building work is completed the retailers will start fitting out their new stores.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties Ltd, Amanda Holmes, said: "It’s great to see the steel work almost completed now and this latest phase of work at Alexandra Park taking shape. We’ve had a good deal of interest in the remaining units and are looking forward to making further announcements soon.”
