TUI expands with new agency in Morpeth’s Stanley Terrace

5 September 2023

A brand-new TUI retail store has opened within the Next store at Stanley Terrace, providing a welcomed boost to the local Morpeth economy.

Earlier this year TUI UK’s Managing Director revealed plans for more bricks and mortar retail stores due to the resurgence of the high street.

The company currently has 321 branches nationwide and have a strong partnership with high street giant, Next.

Based at Stanley Terrace behind Sanderson Arcade and benefiting from a 300+ town centre car park, the Next store has been open just over seven years.

Already housing a busy Costa Coffee branch, the store has now brought back into use some surplus storage space to house a TUI travel shop complete with Bureau de Change.

Steph Curson, Regional Sales Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our newest store in historic Morpeth and the team can’t wait to begin talking dream holidays with the local community. We know how much customers value the opportunity to come in and chat to our advisors.  And whether they are considering one of the North East’s favourite destinations - The Canaries, Turkey and Mexico - or newer winter sun routes like West Africa’s Cape Verde or Egypt’s Sharm El Sheik – they can be assured of expert personal service.”

The new store will be managed by Nicola Atkinson, who has more than 32 years experience working with TUI.

“I’m so excited to get to know more of our customers face to face and have the chance to book them their dream holiday. It is such a thrill for the team to watch our customers leave with a big smile on their face, knowing we’ve been able to assist” said Nicola Atkinson.

The new opening has generated 7 new jobs and advisors will be on hand to assist travel goers with their dream holidays offering specialist knowledge in family package holidays, luxury cruises, long haul excursions and European city breaks.

The £7 million pound Stanley Terrace development was delivered in 2016 by Dransfield Properties, the same company which owns and manages Sanderson Arcade. As well as Next the scheme is also home to Pets at Home and Home Bargains - all benefiting the main town centre car park straight outside.

Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson, said: “We are lucky to have such a wide range of shops and services at Sanderson Arcade, but we’re thrilled to be bringing something new to the area for customers. We hope holiday goers enjoy the new travel shop and then come and shop with our wide range of fashion stores for their holiday wardrobe, including of course within Next.”

The TUI concession will have travel agents on hand from 10.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:30am until 4:30pm on Sundays.
