New Development Plans Unveiled in Hull

Plans have been unveiled for a new retail development at Mount Pleasant in East Hull.

The scheme will breathe new life into a run down site as well as creating up to 400 new jobs in the area.

An open public consultation session is being held at Balfour Community Centre from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 22nd May to give residents the chance to view the proposals.

The scheme, being delivered by the Mount Pleasant Urban Regeneration Company, led by Dransfield Properties Ltd, will deliver:

  • A new foodstore covering 92,500 sq ft
  • 600 car parking spaces
  • New petrol filling station
  • 400 new jobs
  • A range of smaller retail units
  • A piece of public art  

A number of businesses have already been relocated including 353535 Taxis and the Humber Social Club which opened in its new premises at the former Royal Hotel on New Bridge Road in January this year.

Managing Director of Mount Pleasant Urban Regeneration and Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield said: “We are working with a number of businesses in the area to deliver this exciting new retail development which is on a key site in the city.

"There is a long held aspiration for a new development on this site in East Hull and we will be listening to the views of the residents and local stakeholders at our consultation session."

Plans will be submitted later in the year.
