Young Achiever Jackie Scoops Top National Shopping Centre Award

Jackie Helliwell the centre manager at Gainsborough’s Marshall’s Yard development has won the SCEPTRE Young Achiever Award in a ceremony held in London.
The 26-year-old manager came up against stiff competition from all corners of the country but at the ceremony at the Dorchester on Tuesday (June 22nd) Jackie was announced as the winner, receiving her award from the star of Radio and TV Nicholas Parsons in front of 450 guests.
The annual charity event organised by Shopping Centre magazine is held to celebrate best practice and best people in the shopping centre industry.
Jackie has worked for Dransfield Properties since 2005, starting out as a secretary she has also worked as a PR assistant and completed the CIPR course before joining the team at Marshall’s Yard.
In December 2009 she was promoted to the role of Centre Manager where she has introduced a number of new initiatives including the re-launch of the Gainsborough Farmers Market.
Jackie, who is from Stocksbridge in Sheffield, said: “I was really pleased to have been nominated for the awards and to actually win is just fantastic. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given at Dransfield Properties and the confidence people have had in me to take on new skills and responsibilities.
We have some exciting new initiatives for Marshalls Yard in the next few months and I’m looking forward to our continued work with the wider business community in Gainsborough to keep the town on the map as a great place to shop and work.”

Dransfield Properties was also named as runner up in the Development Team cetegory of the SCEPTRE Awards for Sanderson Arcade, the company’s town centre development in Morpeth, Northumberland. Land Securities & Capital Shopping Centres won that award for St Davids Dewi Saint, Cardiff.
Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Dransfield Properties specialises in market town and district centre retail developments. Working in partnership with Prospect Estates the firm developed and opened Marshall’s Yard in 2007, work started the following year on the prestigious Sanderson Arcade development which was opened by Joanna Lumley OBE in November 2009.
