Snap Fitness 24/7™ announces charity partnership with Mental Health Foundation

16 May 2022

Snap Fitness UK is supporting the Mental Health Foundation as their first nationwide charity of the year.

Launching to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week which takes place on 9th-15th May, the partnership aims to raise vital funds and important awareness in support of the Mental Health Foundation’s focus on achieving good mental health for all.

Throughout 2022/23, Snap Fitness clubs across the UK will be running a number of initiatives with the aim to raise a target of £50,000.  The initiative is being kicked off with a £5 donation from every new member and charity fundraising events that members can get involved in at selected clubs across May 2022. They will be launching further initiatives across the year and be working with the Mental Health Foundation to provide members and staff within the clubs with access to resources.

Jon Cottam, CEO at Snap Fitness EMEA comments: “Prevention is at the heart of the Mental Health Foundation’s work. This year they are highlighting the challenge of loneliness, which affects four in ten adults impacting in low moods, and a quarter of people say feeling lonely has made them feel anxious or had negative effects on their mental health.

At Snap Fitness, we believe it’s important to have a holistic approach to health and wellness. We know that there are strong links between physical and mental health and that we play a valuable role in supporting our teams and our members in creating a strong community of support.

We are honoured to be partnering with the Mental Health Foundation to support them in raising both funds and awareness. If every member donates just £1 we’ll meaningfully exceed our targets.”

Annie Hall, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Mental Health Foundation comments: “We started the Mental Health Awareness Week

21 years ago, and the event has grown to become one of the biggest awareness weeks across the UK and globally. The week provides us with the opportunity to highlight our focus on promoting good mental health for all, however ensuring that we raise awareness and provide support to thousands more people is vitally important and our corporate partners are key to enabling us to achieve this.”.
