South Yorkshire charity opens new boutique store at Fox Valley

A charity dedicated to animal welfare has launched a new boutique store at Fox Valley in north Sheffield - with a focus on high quality and designer preloved clothing.

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is based on two sites in Sheffield and was founded in 1988. Since opening the charity has rescued thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals.

The charity works to rehomes the animals in their care and look after them until they are matched with their new forever home.

Thornberry is now expanding its retail operations which is a key part of the charity’s fundraising, with the brand-new store at Fox Valley in Stocksbridge. The boutique style store can be found in the Independent Quarter at Fox Valley and opened to the public on Thursday October 10^th.

Helen Connolly, the charity’s General Manager, said: “Fox Valley is a great location for us to expand our retail offering and we are really pleased to be opening here, we’re also looking forward to getting involved with the onsite events and being a big part of the local community here in Stocksbridge.”

Helen and her team are planning to organise some special visits from the centre’s Shetlands ponies as well as other four-legged friends.

Helen added: “Sustainable fashion is becoming so popular and mainstream, and we are really focussed on stocking high quality and designer items, bringing something different to the centre for local shoppers – and of course raising funds for the care of our animals.”

Centre Manager Charlotte Whittaker said: “Thornberry is a great local charity, and we are really pleased to welcome them to Fox Valley. The team have got some great ideas for working with us on events at the centre – so watch this space.”
