Work on Schedule to Deliver New Health Facilities in Tunstall

Work is on schedule on the multi-million pound development to deliver brand new health care facilities in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent.
The development will create a brand new Primary Care Centre as part of the Alexandra Park development in the town and contractors are on schedule for an Autumn opening.
Miller Construction started work on this latest phase of the Alexandra Park development in November 2010. As well as a brand new Primary Care Centre covering 22,174 sq ft over two floors it will also deliver a new 5,000 sq ft Boots pharmacy. A further phase will create more retail space in the town.
The new facility will provide accommodation for;
· GP practices – Dr Bose and Dr Sonnathi.
· Dental Access Centre.
· District Nursing, Health Visiting, School Nursing, and Specialist Nursing.
· Paediatric Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Podiatry.
· Dietetics, Continence Services, and Orthoptics.
· Blood testing.
The first phase of Alexandra Park houses a successful DW Sports fitness centre and retail store as well as a Carephone Warehouse, it is also home to the iconic Shard sculpture by the award winning artist Robert Erskine.
Retail Property Director at Dransfield Properties, Andrew Malley, said: “We are delighted that work is on schedule, the new Primary Care Centre will bring many different services under one roof and we look forward to seeing the centre completed and in use when it opens to the public later this year."
The new development is also creating 241 car parking spaces, as well as landscaped grounds and a courtyard garden for patients and visitors with pedestrian and cycle access to the City’s Greenway Network.
