DPL team visit Cheshire to share best practice in retail

A team from Dransfield Properties’ award-winning shopping centres has met with experts leading the most popular retail destinations in the North West.

The company’s shopping centre management, operations and communications teams took part in the two-day visit to Cheshire visiting Cheshire Oaks, the new indoor food market in Chester, Altrincham market and rounding off with a visit to Tatton Park Food Festival.

Dransfield Properties is based at Fox Valley in north Sheffield and owns and manages successful shopping centres across the UK, many of which have been recognised in prestigious national awards.

Operations and Communications professionals were joined in the annual fact-finding trip by colleagues from shopping centres including Fox Valley, Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough and Stroud’s Five Valleys.

Part of the packed itinerary included a tour of the new food market which opened in Chester before Christmas. The market had striking similarities to the indoor market at Five Valleys and ideas were shared between the two parties on what has worked well.

All centres within the portfolio hold annual food festivals so it absolutely made sense that the visit didn’t miss out on the festival happening that weekend at Tatton Park.

The visit was co-ordinated by Dransfield Properties’ Operations Manager, Jodie Pacey. The company prides itself on organising a busy diary of events and works with local partners on high quality markets on all its centres.

Jodie said: “This was a great opportunity to visit the UK’s largest designer village and really understand how they work to drive footfall and engage with their customers.

“We work hard to ensure a clean, attractive and welcoming atmosphere on all our centres and that we hold quality events, but we’re never complacent and our teams are always keen to speak to other leaders within the industry.”
